Atunyote Golf Club at the Turning Stone Resort

ATUNYOTE (uh-DUNE-yote) - Oneida word that means “eagle”

Location:  St. Rt. 31, Vernon, NY. Approximately 2.5 miles from Turning Stone.

 

Tournaments:  

Atunyote is the home of the PGA TOUR Turning Stone Resort Championship held each September. This year the event is being held, September 28 - August 5, 2008. It is the only PGA TOUR event held on Native American soil.

 

Description of the course:

The 18-hole course has vast stretches of open space, gently rolling hills, a stream, small waterfalls, and several lakes. There is a mile and a half of secluded driveway that leads you to the New England style clubhouse with wrap-around porch. Atunyote has its own practice facilities, driving range, short game area and putting green. The course has four- Par 3’s, ten- Par 4’s and four- Par 5’s. The largest body of water, measuring 13 acres runs along three fairways including the dramatic finishing hole.
